What Is GEC Express? 

GEC Express is a new division of Green Events Consulting that is focused on short-term advising for VSOs and student group leaders, as well as on educating students about sustainable event-planning.  Our consultants and project teams, as explained under the VSOs tab, have so far only been working on large-scale events with VSOs on a long-term basis, advising them extensively on various areas of their event.  However, we have realized that there are many students who merely have several simple questions (e.g. where to buy compostable material, how to get recycling and compost bins at their event, quick strategies on how to green their event) but do not know where to go to get these questions answered.  GEC would like to serve as a resource for all students on campus (not just the fourteen VSOs we are consulting extensively throughout this year), so we are now a part of Student Activities Leadership (SAL).  You can come to the SAL office to speak with a GEC consultant or a peer advisor regarding greening your event.  Also feel free to email Stanford Green Events with any questions that you would like answered.

Water Coolers

GEC has water coolers / dispensers that your VSO can rent and use for your event. Please email stanfordgreenevents@gmail.com to request water coolers, and please do so at least one week before you need them.

Coolers should be picked up at the Old Union Offices (logistics can be coordinated when you email us to make a reservation), and in the case that they are not returned, or lost, the VSO will be expected to replace our water cooler(s). 

GEC also encourages VSOs / events not formally working with GEC but renting water coolers to green other areas of their event. We can help you at our drop-in hours at SAL.
